Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkartta

Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkartta  is a Hindu religious temple building located in Bogor. This temple is the largest temple on the Java Island and the second largest in Indonesia after Besakih in Bali and its a unique located at the slope of Mount Salak so the atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful there. Every day, the temple is always crowded both who want to worship, meditation, photography, and many things. 
 


Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta construction initiated in 1995 and is the result of mutual cooperation of the Hindus nation. Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta officially not yet completed, but the main temple building as part Padmesana temple , Balai Pasamuan Agung and the Mandala Utama  has been completed .



 
In the Area of Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta there are also Pura Melanting and Pura Pasar Agung specifically used to pray to apply for success. Visitors are prohibited from entering the main temple, except for ritual prayers to be performed, the only access to the outer court of the temple.
 


The layout of the Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta also based on the legend that it is the place where King Siliwangi achieve moksha together with his soldiers, so before it is built, a temple with black and white tiger statue (symbol of King Siliwangi) was established as a tribute to Padjadjaran Kingdom , the Hindu Kingdom last on the Parahyangan Land. Most relics of the kingdom of Padjadjaran now stored at the National Museum of Indonesia in Jakarta. King Siliwangi footprints imprinted on a rock that became known as Ciaruteun Inscription.
